English: The remnants of the west tower of Malmesbury Abbey. Of interest because Elmer the flying monk made one of the world's first flights by a human from an earlier tower at this spot in the 11th century. The current building mostly dates from the 14th century, although much of the abbey, including part of the west spire, collapsed in the 16th century.
