Object history
Deutsch: Der geflügelte Löwenkopf ist das Wappenbild des Geschlechts der Eglofsheimer, die ihren Namen vom Ort abgeleitet haben. Diese sind seit Mitte des 12. bis Ende des 14. Jahrhunderts als bischöfliche Ministerialen nachweisbar. An einer Urkunde von 1321 (und später) ist das Siegel von Sighard und Eglolf von Eglofsheim überliefert. Alteglofsheim war eine Hofmark im Landgericht Haidau-Pfatter; verschiedene Adelsfamilien hatten die Grund- und Gerichtsherrschaft inne. Auf die Eglofsheimer folgten als Inhaber der Hofmark eine ganze Reihe von anderen Adelsgeschlechtern, u.a. die Grafen von Königsfeld. Seit der Erbauung der Burg Neueglofsheim (Erstnennung 1314, heute Schloss Haus) ist der Name Alteglofsheim gebräuchlich.
