Hoot Owl is a place in Oklahoma in the United States. By law, it is a town — but in 2020, nobody lived there.[3]

It became a town in 1977, when one family (three people) lived there. The family formed the town to keep hunters away from their land. In 1993, the family tried to dissolve (end the existence of) the town, but a court stopped them.[4]
