Jorge Larrañaga

Jorge Washington Larrañaga Fraga (8 August 1956 – 22 May 2021) was an Uruguayan politician. He was a member of the National Party (PN). He was Minister of the Interior from 1 March 2020 until his death during the Luis Lacalle Pou administration. He was a Senator between 2000 and 2020. Larrañaga was born in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Larrañaga ran for President of Uruguay four times in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019.

Larrañaga died of a heart attack in Montevideo on 22 May 2021, aged 64.
