Blessed Joseph Gérard, OMI (March 12, 1831 – May 29, 1914)[1] was a French Catholic missionary.

Gérard mostly worked among the Basotho people of modern-day Lesotho and the Free State province of South Africa.

Gérard was beatified by Pope John Paul II on September 15, 1988.[2] His feast day is on May 29.
