Thomas Allen "Tom" Coburn, M.D. (born March 14, 1948) is an American politician and medical doctor. A member of the Republican Party, he served as a U.S. Senator of Oklahoma from 2005 to 2015. He announced in January 2014 that he would leave the senate at the end of the 113th United States Congress and submitted his resignation letter in disgrace to Governor of Oklahoma Mary Fallin.
