User talk:Keitei~simplewiki
Welcome to Simple! I hope you are happy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Some helpful pages to start you off are Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents and Wikipedia:Policy.
If you want to meet and talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Just remember that you should sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.
We have a special page that describes how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles.
Also, I am not an administrator. I am flattered that you thought I was. I am an admin on en.Wikipedia not simple.Wikipedia. If there anything I can help you with on either site, just let me know. -- Psy guy 12:32, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Don't feel discouraged about your RfA. I actually did the same thing you did. I had an account here for a couple days and put up my request. I thought since I was an admin on EN that I would be able to be one over here fairly easily. I thought Simple was just a "simplified" version of EN, but I have been noticing that it had a different feel and personality. When we both get a little more time and a few more edits under our belts, I sure we can run again. Take care. Psy guy 13:48, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Comments[change source]
Hello,
you might be disappointed that I opposed your candidacy. However, this leaves you time to find your way around. When writing new articles, I found it useful to look at other wikipedias (like the English one, for example). Take stuff from there, and simplify it.
Also my comment was not against titling, which is a very valid way of splitting up large bodies of text. To see how long (and frustrating) an editing process can be look at Berlin Wall edit history, for example.
Dont hesitate, I don't bite. -- Eptalon 13:36, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Adminning isn't very fun... I just don't mind deleting the one-liner vanity articles, spam, vandalism and all that. I looked at the list of admins, and about half appeared to be inactive, so I just wanted to make an offer. I average about 16 hours on wikis per day, so... I just wanted to let people know that I'm here. --Keitei 16:19, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism[change source]
Hello, when you fight vandalism, do not only revert the page. Also put a notice on the users talk page. I put welcome and test templates on the first case, and stopvandal later on. When I put stopvandal, I also usually report them to the admin squad -- Eptalon 10:19, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- IP addresses included? --Keitei 13:00, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, very much so. Most vandalism comes from IP addresses. - Eptalon 14:06, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Alright. I'm used to not leaving messages due to dynamic IP addresses, under the assumption they probably won't see the message. --Keitei 14:38, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

WikiReader[change source]
Would you mind taking a look at my WikiReader proposal on Wikipedia:Simple talk? I think it could be a fantastic way to go for the Simple English encyclopedia. Archer7 16:12, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[change source]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Keitei. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Keitei~simplewiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
