2021 Madagascar food crisis

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In mid-2021, a bad drought in southern[1] Madagascar caused thousands of people to suffer from famines.[2][3] Some organizations have said that this famine is an impact of climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic.

In August 2021, the food crisis was said to be the first famine caused by climate change and not conflict, according to the World Food Programme.[4][5][6]
