Ao Tanaka (田中 碧, Tanaka Ao, born September 10, 1998) is a Japanese football player. He played for the Japan national team.

Biography[change | change source]

Tanaka was born in Kawasaki on September 10, 1998. He joined J1 League club Kawasaki Frontale from their youth team in 2017. He played many matches as defensive midfielder from 2019 and was selected "J.League Best Young Player award" in 2019. Kawasaki won the J1 champions in 2020.

In December 2019, Tanaka was selected the Japan national team for 2019 E-1 Football Championship. At this tournament, he debuted against Hong Kong on December 14.
