Clasping Milkweed (Asclepias amplexicaulis) is a species of milkweed plant. It is also known as Blunt-leaved Milkweed and Sand Milkweed. It belongs in the subfamily Asclepiadoideae. It is native to the eastern United States. The blooming period is in the spring. This species is found in prairies and open woodlands, usually in sandy soil. It is about 0.3 to 0.9 meters in height (1-3 feet). Clasping Milkweed has poison that is dangerous to humans and livestock.
