A banana squash

Banana squash is an edible squash, or gourd, in the Cucurbita family.[1] developed from the butternut squash, a type of winter squash. Its name was given for its elongated shape and yellow colour.

Like the butternut squash, it has a potato-like texture and seeds in the middle. It is classified as a fruit because it has seeds. Its mild flesh can be either sweet or savoury.
