Bernd Fischer

Bernd Fischer (18 December 1936 – 13 August 2020) was a German mathematician.

He was best known to his works to the classification of simple groups, and he discovered several of the sporadic groups. He helped discover 3-transposition groups and created the three Fischer groups.[1][2]
