Brent Bernard Sopel (born January 7, 1977) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He currently plays for the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL). He has also played for the Vancouver Canucks, New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Thrashers, and Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for Metallurg Novokuznetsk and Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Sopel previously played 15 seasons in the NHL; seven seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, one season with the New York Islanders, two seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, three seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, one season with the Atlanta Thrashers and one season with the Montreal Canadiens. He signed a 2 year contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) on July 29, 2011.
