The Canet guns were designed by Gustave Canet (1846-1913) for Schneider et Cie.

Naval artillery[change | change source]

Schneider was successful in sales to the Empire of Japan.

The guns supplied to Japan equipped the cruisers Matsushima, Itsukushima, and Hashidate. [1]

The guns were used during the First Sino-Japanese War.
