For simplicity, can one explain the difference between clergy and Monk? The word Clergy is already rarely used here and this is making things little uneasy.-BRP ever 06:25, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Different groups use different titles, but most the most frequent type of Buddhist clergy is a Buddhist monk, and some (such a Lamas) are also monks, but I suspect some Buddhist clergy are not monks. Ole Nydahl, for example seems to be worth of being considered clergy since he is the founder and leader of "Diamond Way Buddhism".
Buddhist clergy is meant to be a broader term. Tahc (talk) 03:30, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
