"Cleanin' Out My Closet" is a song by Eminem from the album The Eminem Show. It was released on August 3, 2002.[1] The lyrics of the song are about how people protest against his lyrics, his father abandoning his family and his mother's drug use.

In 2013, Eminem released the song "Headlights". In "Headlights", he says that he feels bad for the things he said about his mother and apologized to her. He also said that he didn't like "Cleanin' Out My Closet", refusing to play it at his concerts and cringing when he hears it.[2]

The song was able to make it to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is certified 3× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[1][3]
