Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a series of five books written by Jeff Kinney. It should not be confused with the first book in the series, also called Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The series is about a middle schooler named Greg Heffley and is written like a diary. Greg sometimes does bad things, but he thinks everyone is mean to him.

- Greg Heffley is a middle schooler who can do bad things, but everything seems to go badly in his life. He likes to play video games and is lazy.
- Rodrick Heffley is Greg's older brother. He is a teenager and likes heavy metal music.
- Manny Heffley is Greg's younger brother. He is a little kid, and his parents spoil (do good things for) him.
- Frank Heffley is Greg's father. He wants Greg to play outside more.
- Susan Heffley is Greg's mother. She is nice, but does not know very much about things that Greg and Rodrick like, and she wants to get them to read more.
- Rowley Jefferson is Greg's best friend, even though he acts like he is about seven years old.
