The George Washington University is a private, coeducational university in Washington, D.C.. The university has about 24,531 students. It was founded on February 9, 1821. The current president of the university is Steven Knapp.

The athletics teams of the university are called the Colonials. They have 22 varsity teams and they compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
