Hakucho (CORSA-B)

Hakucho (はくちょう) is the name of a Japanese artificial satellite which was put into orbit.

The launch was a project of the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science of the University of Tokyo.

Hakucho was sent into orbit on February 21, 1979. It reentered the atmosphere and melted on April 15, 1985.[1]

This was Japan's first x-ray astronomy satellite.
