Kaiapoi is a town in the Waimakariri District of New Zealand. It is situated 17 kilometers north of Christchurch and is close to the Waimakariri River. It has 3 primary schools and one high school located in the town. In 2010 and 2011 Kaiapoi suffered from severe damage from the earthquakes resulting some eastern areas being unlivable.
