Kashihara (橿原市 Kashihara-shi) is a Japanese city in Nara Prefecture on the island of Honshū.[1]

According to legend, Emperor Jimmu was enthroned at Kahihara.[1]
Fujiwara-kyō was the ancient capital of Japan from 694 to 710.[1]
The modern city was established in 1956.
