La Harpe, Illinois

La Harpe is a city of Illinois in the United States. In 2012 there were 1,222 people living in La Harpe.[1] It is in Hancock County. It is 697 feet above sea level.[1]

The city is named for Berrard de LaHarpe, a French explorer.[2] During the 1715 he spent winter in the area. The area was settled in the 1830's and the first post office opened in 1836.[2]
