Nader Kashani (born 25 August 1944 – 22 April 2024) was an Iranian basketball player.

Kashani started his playing basketball career with the Polad team and later the team of Pas Tehran. He was captain of the team and won in total four times the national title.[1][2]

Kashani became the captain of the Iran men's national basketball team from 1961.[2][3] With the team he competed among others at the 1966 Asian Games, 1970 Asian Games, 1973 ABC Championship and 1974 Asian Games.[1] He retired from basketball in 1977.[4][3] According to magainze Duniya Sarhat Kashani had exceptional "mobility, steel and pairings" and was described as an "unstoppable prodigy, whether under the opponent's basket with his magical passes or under his own basket when catching the ball".[1] He is described by Iranian Basketball House as a "hero" in Iranian basketball.[4]

After being in hospital for several days, he died on 22 April 2024 at the age of 79 years.[4]
