The Phaistos disc is a bronze age artifact. It is a disc made of clay. It is covered with many symbols. The motivs show people and animals, and were stamped onto the disc. They also run in a spiral. This disc is probably the first known "printed" work in history; in the sense that there was a re-usable set of characters and drawings. It is the only artefact of its kind. Many questions have been asked about the disc, regarding its purpose or use,and even if the signs shown actually represent writing.

There are 241 symols on the disc; they are 61 groups, separated by lines. 122 stamps are on the A side, the rest are on the B side. There is a gap on the A side. Groups are between two and 7 stamps long. Because se of the fact that the "text" is very short, and that the disc is unique it is likeyl that it cannot be deciphered at all.
