Ramesh L. Chakrasali is an author and the current principal of SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad. He is senior professor at department of Electrical and Electronics engineering at SDMCET.[2] He has authored several books such as Basic Electrical engineering, Testing and Commissioning of Electrical Equipment and Electrical Power Utilization.[3][4][5] He has been appointed as the principal of SDM College of Engineering and Technology (SDMCET) succeeding Dr. K. Gopinath, He is serving as the principal of SDMCET since February 2024.[6]

He obtained his B.E. (Electrical) and M.E. (Digital Electronics) from SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad. He was awarded Ph.D. from Visvesvaraya Technological University Belagavi, in the field of renewable energy sources based standalone micro hybrid grid.[7]
