Roland Maurice Jefferson (born September 3, 1923) was an American botanist. He was the first African-American botanist to work for the United States National Arboretum. He worked there from 1956 to 1987.[1]
He was a well known person when it came to flowering cherry trees. He wrote a 1977 book on how Washington, D.C. got its famous cherry trees.[2]
