Ryan Thomas Gosling (born November 12, 1980) is a Canadian actor, director, writer and musician. He is known for his roles as Noah Calhoun in The Notebook and as Dan Dunne in Half Nelson. He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award.

Gosling was born on November 12, 1980 in London, Ontario, Canada.[1] He studied at Cornwall Collegiate, at the Vocational School, and at the Lester B. Pearson High School. He now lives in Los Angeles, California.
