Sami Salo (born September 2, 1974 in Turku, Finland) is a professional Finnish ice hockey defenceman that currently plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Ottawa Senators with the 239th pick in the 1996 NHL Draft.
Salo has also played 9 seasons with the Vancoucer Canucks, 4 seasons with the Ottawa Senators, 3 seasons with TPS of the SM-liiga, 1 season with Jokerit of the SM-liiga and 1 season with Frölunda HC of the Elitserien.
