Something Awful
Something Awful is a comedy website and forums. People have to pay money to join the forums to talk with other people around the world. It currently costs $9.95 (US Dollars) to join. You must be very polite on these forums, because the people are sensitive. They say that paying money makes people behave more politely. The technical term for this is that the people on the forum are in a "beta state", because they have paid money for their accounts. [1]
Something Awful was started by Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka in 1999.
In March, 2008 Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka left forums management to Kevin "Fragmaster" Bowen, in order to focus on operating the main site.
In July, 2009 "troons" were created. These are small cartoons about sensitivity training (how to be more sensitive and caring towards other people) and jokes.
