some details were off- I tried to fix them, but my changes were identified as harmful. (I don't think they were)[change source]

As punishment[change source]

The last sentence in the 'As punishment' section misrepresents the statements in the journal, and leaves out some details. (I had no idea that castration was still in use in the USA- don't get how a person would consent to it.. but anyway. ) If somebody could get an admin to approve this replacement text, it would improve the article. I'm not so sure about the bit in the Miscellaneous section with the word 'microphallus', I think this is probably somebody just pranking the site. There are some fairly large issues with the normal English (non-simple) version of this page, but I'll try to gain a consensus on how to fix them in the appropriate chat page. And for the record, insomnia is pretty lame. Oh yeah, my replacement text (for the last sentence) was:

"According to the Journal of Urology, eight states in the USA allowed for chemical and/or surgical castration of incarcerated persons seeking rehabilitation for child molestation as of 2017. The requirements for castration include that the criminal request surgery, that informed consent is obtained, and that castration cannot be coerced via threats or inducements.  Some other countries do not require consent.  The Journal of Urology also mentions that criminal activities including adultery, rape, and child molestation have historically been met with legally enforced castration and penile amputation."
