Regarding the deletion request based on A3 (Complex article from another Wikipedia)[change source]

Hello @InfernoGaming46,

Thank you for your dedication and hard work on the encyclopedia.

Regarding the deletion request based on A3 (Complex article from another Wikipedia), if one is to compare this article with the original version on en:Economic patriotism, it would be clear that it has not been directly copied and pasted without simplifying complex text.

Please provide some suggestions on areas that might still be overly complex. I appreciate your time. Parent55 (talk) 00:43, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that it wasn't completely copied and pasted, but many parts of it are. In terms of how it's complex, the article is filled with complex words that can be simplified. You can look in any section and find them. We follow a pretty strict worldlist here to keep it simple and easy to read for anyone with a basic knowledge of English. Our wordlist can be found here. However, I think I will withdraw the RfD as I believe it can be simplified. I can help with that effort. InfernoGaming46 (IG46) (talk / changes) 00:53, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@InfernoGaming46, thank you for your feedback.
Could you give me a few examples of overly complex, and an example on how to address one of them? The word 'economy' is not on the wordlist for example, but there is a Simple Wiki article on it and it would be impossible to proceed with this article without using the word 'economic'.
Also, is the list to be followed by the letter or is there room for some personal judgement? There are words on the list that I am sure my younger grandchildren or my non-native speaking friends would not be familiar with (vessel, plough, slope, ornament, feeble, apparatus, for example...). Yet words such as 'encourage', 'area', 'region', and 'location' are not included yet are probably familiar to the intended audience. What do you think?

Adding links to articles either here or on the Simple English Wiktionary is good too, so economy is fine. I went ahead and did some simplification, so the article should be a lot better now. Thank you for your additions, and I apologize if this whole situation has come off as rude or the likes. Thanks, InfernoGaming46 (IG46) (talk / changes) 01:28, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
