The claims that Emma is the feminine form of Emmanuel and that it is connected to the Latin "emere," appear from my research to be incorrect. Additionally, the source cited makes no reference to either supposed origin, but rather supports the accepted Germanic etymology. In light of this, I have removed the text below from this article.

"It is the feminine version of the name 'Emmanuel', which is derived from the Hebrew name 'Immanuel' that means 'God is with us'. Additionally, the name Emma is linked to the Latin word 'emere', which means "to purchase" or 'to obtain'."
