Revision needed[change source]

I think we need to move towards something a bit more comprehensible. This is a difficult area but, for the readers, it has to say something they can understand. Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:38, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'll attempt to tackle this once I get off work today. I copied a version over to a draft page if anyone else is interested in trying to fix it. --Lithorien (talk) 19:02, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Macdonald-ross: I uploaded the new version. Simplified, added reference, lots of wiki links. Please let me know what you think, and if there's something else you'd like me to focus on here. --Lithorien (talk) 16:11, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I do think it is much more approachable for a reader. Of course (intro) the belief in reincarnation is completely incomprehensible to a westerner of any description... but there's no getting around that! It's a healthy reminder that all societies have believed in the irrational, bar none.
Well, I think you might need to mention that what we use the word 'enlightenment' to mean bodhi (Indian Buddhism) or satori (in Zen Buddhism). That doesn't mean that by reading the English word a person can understand the concept! -- just that, as a matter of fact, it is the word chosen to reprsent the original idea. Meanwhile, well done so far. Macdonald-ross (talk) 16:45, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
