Date of birth[change source]

Is it really proven that Gertrude Weaver was born on 4 July 1898 as claimed? According to a report from Nikolay Zak, there is no robust evidence that she was actually born in 1898 as Tonpon Gaines as claimed, as there is no robust proofs that Tonpon and Gertrude is the same person. Besides that, Gertrude Weaver was in the 1910 census reported to be aged 10, and thereby in 1899 or 1900 rather than 1898, and it is unclear whether she was born on 4 July or 4 April, as some records suggest. 213.65.211.63 (talk) 22:28, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If it isn't robustly proven that Gertrude Weaver was born with name Tonpon in 1898, she should be disputed. As Nikolay Zak says, she may have been born in 1899 or 1900, as the 1910 census has recorded her with name Gertrude and aged 10. Tonpon born in 1898 may in fact not have been the same person as Gertrude, but rather a sibling to Gertrude who supposedly died as a child.
It seems that American longevity researchers are bad, identifying people for claimed longevity mistakenly. Quite recently, Johnson Parks (1884?-1998), was disputed due to evidence proving that he was most likely born in 1895, and misidentified as a supercentenarian; so, after Christian Mortensen's death, the oldest living man was, rather than Johnson Parks, either Walter Richardson or Denzo Ishizaki, depending on whether Walter Richardson was almost a year older or a year younger than Ishizaki (who was verified to be 111 years, 187 days old as of Mortensen's death but claimed to be two years older and asserted to have got his birth certificate "two years delayed"). 212.100.101.104 (talk) 23:09, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
