Discussion[change source]

@Antandrus Why is Wikipedia supposed to say if something is "acceptable" or "unacceptable"? That seems like it is taking a stance, and it also violates WP:NPOV. It would be better to say "offensive" than "unacceptable". Besides, English is spoken all over the world, and there might be some places where the term is not offensive. 172.59.129.193 (talk) 01:02, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I believe there's no reason to link to Homo (slang). We don't need an article for every use of a term, in my opinion. Particularly as English Wikipedia doesn't have an article for this: it just links to "LGBT slang" where it provides the following information: "shortening of homosexual. Often derogatory." The link on the dab page will make readers think there's a reason to click it, when the same information can be given on this page without a link to "homo (slang)". 172.59.129.193 (talk) 01:07, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, probably don't need an article. I do think it's a bad idea not to say it's a derogatory term though. Regular English Wikipedia allows you to link to Wiktionary which might work, but the template isn't working here. Antandrus (talk) 01:34, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that looks better. I have added a Simple English Wiktionary link on "derogatory". 172.59.129.193 (talk) 01:40, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
