Talk:List of Japanese footballers

Rationale for the list

This list is not complete and may appear less than notable, but it does have a useful purpose for this wiki. I compiled the list from User:Nameless_User's article count page. NU had created thousands of footballer stubs, many from Japan. Many these stubs are orphans and a lot of them have incorrect links to locations in the Hometown field on the infobox. This list will eventually remove many, many articles from the . They have to be cleared out sometime in order to make that backlog manageable and then the tag itself useful.

I've started going through the list and removing Orphan tags and cleaning up the messy/incorrect locations by checking the original pages on Japanese Wikipedia. So far, I've finished A and B ;-) but will get through the whole list eventually. I'm also creating short, stubs for locations that don't have articles yet. These will get filled out later. Update: was going to get through C and D at least, but progress on-hold while the Japan stub is marked for deletion. Little point in clearing up without a way to track and manage things for editors. Gotanda (talk) 07:49, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Update: finished through Kazuhisa Hamaoka. There are many errors--about 50%. Nobody should ever be allowed to mass produce stubs like this ever again. Gotanda (talk) 08:16, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
