Sentences[change source]

Could we please remember that full points mark the end of sentences, not quotation marks? And doubly so when the quotation is introduced after the sentence has commenced. <<He said, "Pass the pepper".>> The 'pass the pepper' is an internal clause. Call me fussy! That's mostly true, except that usually, even if the quote is only one clause of a sentence, the period goes inside the quotation mark. Yeah, doesn't make sense to me either, but I've been told that's the way it's supposed to be done. Purpleback pack 89≈≈≈≈ 15:17, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
