If peanuts have been cultivated in South America for a long time how on Earth did the US introduce it to them?

Did not make any sense. Checked with WP Englisg and lisfted this line... The legume gained Western popularity when it came to the United States from Africa. It had become popular in Africa after being brought there from Brazil by the Portuguese around 1800. I think it looks better now. Also fixed peanut-butter jar picture.
