Shouldn't this be merged with Polymath? --slg (talk) 17:18, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't object to it. Kansan (talk) 16:12, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No. The term "Polymath" should be merged with this article. "Polymath" is a buzz- word that has become very popular on Wikipedia lately. These people have been known as "Renaissance man" for several centuries. While "polymath" might be found with increasing frequency on the internet, Renaissance Man is the term used in literature and speech.

Not yet presenting an opinion but no, "Renaissance man" is 20th century. "Polymath" is 17th century. "Polyhistor" is many centuries older; perhaps it should return. Jim.henderson (talk) 00:01, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
