Countries: Usually they are codes with two letters according to the ISO 3166. --> Does everyone know what ISO is? Otherwise it should be mentioned that this is an international standard. In the definition of ISO 3166-2 it says "ISO 3166 is about abbreviating geographical names like countries to two or three letter codes, or numbers." for example.
