Taricha is a genus of newts. There are only three species and four subspecies. They are called Western Newts and Pacific Newts. All newts are part of the family Salamandridae. The three species in this genus are California newt, the Rough-Skinned newt and the Red Bellied newt. They are all found in the west coast of the United States.
