Temasek is the old name for the Republic of Singapore. (Chinese: 淡马锡, Malay: Temasek, Tamil: டெமாசெக்). Temasek was founded by Sang Nila Utama in 1299 and he renamed it to the Kingdom Of Singapura (1299-1345)
