Usage
Template:ISO 639 name de is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code de, for example: {{Translated page |de |name of page at German Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the German Wikipedia and to include pages in Category:Pages translated from German Wikipedia.
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|de| some text in German}} wraps the text with <span lang="de"> and includes articles in Category:Articles containing German-language text. Also available is {{Lang-de |some text in German}} which displays as German: some text in German.
- {{R from other language|de|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from German-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|de}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to German-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
