Template:List of minor planets/intro
This is a list of minor planets. It goes from minor-planet number 1 through 1000. The data for this and other partial lists is based on JPL's "Small-Body Orbital Elements"[1] and "Data Available from the Minor Planet Center".[2] A detailed description of the table's columns and other sources are given on the main page. There is also a complete list of every page in this series.
Also see the summary list of all named minor planets in numerical and alphabetical order. There is also the naming citations for the number range of this list. New that new namings may only be added to this list after official publication. This is because announcing names before publication is condemned by the Working Group Small Body Nomenclature of the International Astronomical Union.

Usage[change source]
If the |from=# parameter is written, this template makes a normal introduction paragraph. # is the first numbered minor planet listed on the page (1, 1001, etc.). If not written on the article, this template does not show anything.
