The Modern Lovers

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Modern Lovers is a musical band started by Jonathan Richman. Richman liked the band The Velvet Underground, but his own sound was more simple. Many music experts say "Roadrunner" is one of the first punk rock songs. Musicians like the Sex Pistols, David Bowie, and the Pixies listened to the Modern Lovers.[1][2]

The keyboard player in the Modern Lovers, Jerry Harrison, later joined the band The Talking Heads.[1]
