The Scarlet Letter is a book by Nathaniel Hawthorne. It was published on March 16, 1850 by Ticknor, Reed, and Fields of Boston, Massachusetts. It is set in Puritan New England. It is about adultery, its punishment, and aftermath. It has been adapted to movies.
