The Stone Roses are an English rock band fronted by Ian Brown. It was started in Manchester in 1983.

In 1989 the band released their first album The Stone Roses. Seven singles were released from the album which went on to be voted the best British album of all time.[1]

In 1994 the band released their second album, Second Coming. In 1996 the band broke up. The band got back together in 2011. On May 21, 2012 the band announced a reunion tour and performed for the first time in 16 years.[2] In 2013 a documentary called The Stone Roses: Made of Stone was released.

The band split up for a second time in 2017.
