Trade union
From the Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can change
A trade union is an organisation formed by workers to help protect their rights, especially against employers. They began with trade guilds in Medieval times. In those days, being part of a trade guild required talent in what you did, and was seen as a great privilege. These guilds perhaps made sure that other people who did that job didn't cheat their customers.
While unions try to protect worker's, often they make things worse. If they push up the wage rate, less people will be hired; and a low wage is better than no-wage.
