The United States Air Force (USAF) is the aerial warfare branch of the United States armed forces and one of the seven uniformed services. It was a part of the United States Army until September 18, 1947.[1] The USAF is the largest and most technologically advanced modern air force in the world, with over 9,000 aircraft in service[2] and about 352,000 men and women on active duty.[3]
