Adachi Myokengu [en:draft; en; ja] (足立山妙見宮, lit: Mount Adachi Myoken Palace) is a Shinto shrine located in Kitakyushu.^[2] It is also called Mioya Shrine (御祖神社, Mioya-jinja, lit: Divine^[a] Ancestor Shrine)

It is dedicated to Ame-no-Minakanushi, who is sometimes known by the Buddhist name Myōken [en]^[3]. The two different names are from the two different names.

It was founded by Wake no Kiyomaro [en], a Japanese noble man after he stopped Dōkyō [en] from becoming Emperor of Japan. He was exiled to mount adachi and founded the shrine on it after wild boars saved him^[1]. He founded the shrine in 770^[1]

Shimogamo Shrine has a similar formal name "Kamo-mioya Shrine'" (賀茂御祖神社, Kamo-mioya jinja). While some words only sound similar in Japanese but have different characters, this one is common in characters too.^[4]

People Hike up Mount Adachi on a route that goes by it.^[5]
